Odíhg Gèggub (/gɛg/ /gub/ [belief] [local]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Iēibonjām Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Odíhg Gèggub is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Gèggub was founded by Mé̄y Ga̋chvēb 'Raven Bounty' Hä̂ Cúchīy Rē̌shī Nanney Belíhgā, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Odíhg Gèggub has a yearly average temperature of 29°C (84°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 25°C (77°F). Odíhg Gèggub receives an average of 225 cm/y (88 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Odíhg Gèggub covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 820 m (2690 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Odíhg Gèggub was founded durring the late 10th century, by Mé̄y Ga̋chvēb 'Raven Bounty' Hä̂ Cúchīy Rē̌shī Nanney Belíhgā. The establishment of Odíhg Gèggub was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Odíhg Gèggub's construction back out of the project. Mé̄y Ga̋chvēb 'Raven Bounty' Hä̂ Cúchīy Rē̌shī Nanney Belíhgā pushed on reguardles, and Odíhg Gèggub was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Odíhg Gèggub was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 10th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Gèggub is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Odíhg Gèggub is is constructed arround a series of narrow canals mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Odíhg Gèggub's size could have. Odíhg Gèggub's well-designed, yet cheep are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Something in your gut tells you that you may be unwelcome in Odíhg Gèggub. The town seems like it’s not showing you the side of itself it would show to others. People mostly ignore your questions. Many folks ask you to leave their establishments, even before you’ve walked inside them. You should probably listen to them, as every time you’re asked to leave the person asking you to leave has referenced the town’s patron divine in some way. The little voice in the back of your mind that tells you when you’re in danger feels like it’s just glaring at you and muttering about how stupid you are for even remaining in town.

Civic Infrastructure

Odíhg Gèggub has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Odíhg Gèggub. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Odíhg Gèggub's parks.

Odíhg Gèggub has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Odíhg Gèggub.

Odíhg Gèggub has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Odíhg Gèggub possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Odíhg Gèggub's grid is powered by a boiler and turbine based power plant.

Odíhg Gèggub possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. In spite of the Galvanic Grid, these lights continue to use their old fule sources to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Odíhg Gèggub has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Odíhg Gèggub's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cultural Notes

Odíhg Gèggub's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..

In Odíhg Gèggub hail is always enormous, yet harmlessly plinks off people, creatures, and structures.

The Marble Snake near Odíhg Gèggub are known to be quite timid.

Odíhg Gèggub's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves orgies to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 3 via guttural bellowing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Odíhg Gèggub was struck by a devistating earthquake. The quake brought ruin to Odíhg Gèggub, which lost 208 people, 296 livestock, and 36 buildings in the earthquake. The day of the quake is remembered by many as Doom's Day.
